Austin residents find an outlet in Earth Day for the community's growing environmental sentiment.

That was the awakening around the country and even in the Texas legislature. A lot of communities were ripe for what I would consider to be environmental concerns...an opportunity to be active. It was a good time to be working in the environment. That was before I think the business community understood that at some point the environmental controls were going to start costing some money.
