The stone bridge was located just above the current upper dam at Barton Springs. Built around 1894, this rock bridge was said to have been the longest single arch bridge ever built.
This stone abutment is all that remains of a beautiful stone arch bridge that spanned Barton Creek.
The bridge connected Azie Morton Road and Bee Caves Road over Barton Creek near what is now the upper dam of the current Barton Springs pool.
The bridge was destroyed by water flowing up Barton Creek from the Colorado River during the 1900 flood.
