Parks advocates, landowners and developers together explore options to beautify Barton Creek and to create flood plain protections for the entire Barton Creek watershed.
A flood plain is the land adjacent to a waterway which fills with water after a heavy rain. Regulations restricting development on a flood plain keep communities safe and improves the health of rivers and creeks.
So much interest was expressed by the public and property owners along the creek that the Parks and Recreation Department chose the committee to study the proposed project.
