The Guyton report warns against blasting in the Barton Creek area for sewer pipe installation. An awareness is growing that infrastructure projects could potentially damage this delicate area.
In a special report to the City of Austin, William Guyton, consulting ground water hydrologist, noted that even though the possibility of damage to the flow of Barton Springs was 'slight,' no blasting should be carried out unless absolutely necessary.
